The smell of spring, new plants and fresh produce are in the air. Local farmers and artisans will be back at it this weekend when the Downtown Grower’s Market of Albuquerque opens again on Saturday, April 16th. The saturday market if a favorite for Deanna and Eric Dopslaf who love to start off their weekends exploring the morning market, listening to local musicians and stocking up on fresh frites, vegetables, plants and fine crafts. Come join Deanna and Eric this Saturday at Robinson Park between 8AM-12PM. As a special bonus there will also been an evening event at the Duel Brewery featuring local brews to celebrate the opening of the season.
The Downtown Growers’ Market is run by the Albuquerque Action Team and is located in the historic Robinson Park between Central and 8th. The Market was founded in 1996 and continues to grow every year. Already the biggest farmers’ market in the area, it is home to over 45 New Mexican growers that offer the highest quality produce available in Albuquerque. In addition a large variety of local artists and “food artisans” are featured at the market which makes this one of the fun things to do in Albuquerque. Every week you can bring you picnic blanket and purchase a variety of tasty treats and enjoy the featured live band on the lawn. Riding your bike? Then take advantage of the bike valet service. Everyone is welcome so come out and enjoy a morning at the market and enjoy the feel of Albuquerque events. Check out this Map of the Market prepared for April 16.
