US Existing Home Sales Dip Again in October 2015

The National Association of Realtors (NAR) released its existing home sale data for October 2015, showing a 3.4% decrease in existing home sale activity from last month. This data, curated by FindTheHome, shows that the seasonally adjusted and annualized number of existing home sales was 5,360,000, down from 5,550,000 reported in September 2015. These existing home resales sold at a median price of $219,600 this month, meaning that median prices fell 0.9% from last month.

NAR also reports figures for nationwide existing home inventory. This month, NAR estimates that 2,140,000 homes are on the resale market, down 2.3% from last month. Using figures for existing home inventory and sale rate, NAR determined that the months supply of existing homes is 4.8 months in October 2015. The Albuquerque area showed a similar decrease in existing home sales with a 4.2% drop in pended properties and 5.7% drop in closed transactions from last month.
